hey all-
today on Democracy Now! i learned that one of the country's longest lasting pirate (unlicensed) stations, Free Radio Santa Cruz, is celebrating 10 years on the air today!

it's amazing what a small group of dedicated volunteers can accomplish, isn't it?

also, amy goodman mentioned Radio Free Nashville, another LPFM, and their barnraising happening this weekend hosted by the Prometheus Radio Project, www.prometheusradio.org

i was hoping to go down to nashville to help out, but it turns out, with all the activity at our own station, that i'm needed here all weekend.

we've got trainings for programmers going on most evenings thruoughout the week and all day and night all weekend. pretty exciting.

come down and check out the studio this saturday from 12 to 4 at our OpenHouse. you can poke around and ask questions and meet some of the programmers you'll be hearing over the coming weeks.

and DON'T MISS our first airing of DEMOCRACY NOW! on monday at 6pm.

hope to see you all soon,
ben
